How to: Make Your Brand Stand Out

I LOVE talking about branding. So this week we’re going to give some helpful tips about making your Brand STAND OUT.

Are you a Brand or a Business?

You answered “both”, right? Hopefully you did… but I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Building your Brand is more important than building your business. WHATTT

That’s why I’m here to help you figure out how to make YOUR BRAND stand out. So lets get started:

WHO ARE YOU?

First things first, you should probably know who you are. Do you sell ice cream OR do you sell handmade ice cream that comes in unique, bold and delicious flavors.

GET SPECIFIC.

What do you do? How do you do it? WHY do you do it?

For Example:

Let’s say you’re a coach.

  • What kind of coach?
  • Why are you a coach?
  • What do you love about being a coach?
  • How can you help your clients?

These are all things that help you define who you are as a brand.

Make sure YOU are clear in every aspect of this. When you get clear, your audience will be able to see that and it’ll do wonders for your trust relationship.

One of my favorite brands in the whole world is The Alison Show. She also happens to be AMAZING at helping others build brands.

Follow this amazing lady for all the tips and tricks.

What’s the BIG idea?

Why did you start your business/brand in the first place?

As a brand, it’s a good idea to have a “BIG IDEA”. Meaning you need to have something that your audience will always associate you with.

Let’s take The Bucket List Family as an example:

Anyone who has been following their brand KNOWS that they’re a family of travelers who give back everywhere they go & whatever they promote centers around those key concepts: Family, Travel and Service.

Their audience KNOWS what they’re all about, which makes it easier for them to make the decision to follow their brand.

So what are the key concepts to your brand? Do you sell clothes that promote self love? Are you a coach that wants to change the world and you’re going to take your audience with you?

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE FOLLOW YOU?

INSPIRE YOUR AUDIENCE and be SO clear on what the keys to your brand are. You will be surprised at the tribe you start to build.

How do you compare to other Brands?

What sets you apart from the rest of the businesses?

IT’S YOU.

Sure you might have an amazing product, or service or you might be offering something that really hasn’t been offered before… regardless of that, people are more likely to buy something if they LIKE the person promoting it!

In no way does that mean you shouldn’t highlight the obvious things that set you apart from competition. It just means you also need to give your brand some personality.

I started following her for her content. I stayed because she is SO relate-able, her daily mom struggles, her love of Costco, her affinity for all the sparkly things, I feel like her and I would be BFF’s in real life.

SO create something or someone for your audience to relate to. Something for them to connect with and something they can associate you with. It’ll help you stick around in their brain for a much longer time.

A Blondie’s Guide: ‘Whole Food’

Let’s talk about ‘Whole Foods’.  

If you’re a little crunchy like I am you’ll get why whole food is a big deal. Now, I am not talking about the Grocery store chain. I’m talking about real actual food!

Today I’m going to share with you one of my favorite blog posts from another blog I have that is ALL about being healthy:

HELLO HELLO! Today we are going to be chatting about ‘WHOLE FOODS’ … so if you’re not into learning about food or you don’t like to eat food or you’re not into eating good foods… stop reading NOW.

If you ARE looking for a some resources about things to put in your body to make it happier AND healthier, you are in the right place.

What are ‘Whole Foods’?

Definition: “plant food that has been processed or refined as little as possible and is free from additives or other artificial substances.” (Thank you google.) For example.. Fruits, Veggies… good grains.

That sounds easy enough, right? Well.. it’s not. Take a good look at what things you may have in your fridge or in your pantry or cabinets. I am willing to bet most of the food that you have stored away in there doesn’t quite meet the requirements for ‘Whole food’. In today’s world it’s much harder to find unprocessed, unrefined, un-tampered with food. Even a lot of the produce we consume has additives or artificial substances added to it.

Crazy, right?

Note: Check out the labels on your food! If you can’t read it or pronounce it, it most likely isn’t whole food and it probably isn’t too awesome for you.

Why do we need ‘Whole Foods’?

Now, I don’t mean to scare you, everything will be OKAY. Not having a strict diet of only ‘Whole food’ will not kill you and hasn’t been proven as a cause of cancer or any of that kind of junk (Maybe)… our bodies just don’t function as well without them. ‘Whole Foods’ are an essential part to having a healthy balanced body and life!

Our bodies were MADE to process and use Whole, Fresh, food! Imagine a life where all you ate was ‘Whole foods’, I’m sure you’re picturing more energy, a more balanced state of mind. Perhaps, clearer skin and memory, greater health and vibrancy. You are SO right. Our bodies function on a whole different level when we give them the nutrients they need without all the fillers or frills. Eating more whole foods is essential to health and a HUGE step in the right direction if you are ready for an improved healthy lifestyle.

Note: TRY IT! If you haven’t heard of the ‘whole 30 diet’, I recommend checking it out and giving it a go for 30 days! I’d love to start another challenge group and do it with you.

How can we incorporate more ‘Whole Foods’ into our lives?

That being said, how in the world are we supposed to incorporate more Whole Foods into our diets? Easy Peasy. Buy them. I know what you’re thinking… ‘how am I supposed to eat that stuff?’ RECIPES! If you are on Pinterest I am SURE you will find what you need to make these whole foods sound appetizing. Create meal plans, get your family in on it, make it a goal! You will thank yourself later for being so proactive with your health.

The truth of the matter is that our bodies crave these foods and what we can find at the grocery store wont entirely sate that craving or fulfill all of the nutrients our bodies need. That is the BIGGEST reason I advocate for supplements.

5 ways to actually ACHIEVE your goals in 2018

As 2018 kicks into full gear, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to accomplish this year and how I’m going to really achieve my goals!

But, here’s the deal.. I want to help YOU too! Let’s be accountable together 🙂 SO lets talk about all the awesome ways you’re gonna kick 2018’s bootayy!

Here are FIVE things I’m implementing to kick my goals in the butt in 2018:

Learn from 2017

Spend a moment to just think about the Good, Bad and The Ugly from the past year.

I’ve spent like 6 weeks just reminiscing about 2017. Thinking about all the amazing blessings that I was a part of and trying to figure out what went wrong with some of the goals I set for myself.

I’m a huge believer in evaluation and not self sabotage. It’s okay to look back at things in your life and evaluate what could be better. However, it is NOT okay to think you’re a terrible person because things didn’t work out

Experience makes for a good road map.

The biggest thing for me last year was, my work ethic. I would set huge goals and just wait for them to happen. That’s no way to accomplish anything is it?

Use your past experiences to help you get realistic and clear on the things you’re working towards. You really CAN accomplish anything you set your mind to but, are you willing to put in the time and effort?

Set Solid Goals

Put things into sections

After you’ve done some self evaluation, you may realize that you have TONS of goals you want to make for 2018. ME TOO! My favorite way to keep them all organized is by putting them into sections and only making two BIG goals for each section. The sections I use are: Mind, Body, Family, Society, Finances, Spirit.

Get S.M.A.R.T.

Once you’ve decided on the basics of your goals, it’s time to get S.M.A.R.T. If you haven’t heard of this method of goal setting, it rocks!

It stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant & Timely.

If you can’t break a goal down into these categories, it’s not a very attainable goal.

Maintain progress

Set small ‘progress’ goals

You gotta keep yourself motivated. It is SO important to keep yourself on target if you really want to achieve your goals.

A good way to help you do this is by setting small goals. Quarterly, Monthly, weekly or even daily!

I love LOVE love checklists. Also making some type of progress visual will TOTALLY help you stay motivated.

Setting bite-sized goals & ways to progress will make your goals seem more attainable.

Stay Optimistic

Crap is going to hit the fan. It’s part of living in this world. Although, when it does happen, it is so important for your optimism shine through.

These goals you’ve made are just waiting for you on the other side of the hurdles that life has put in your path! Seriously, Heavenly Father or the Universe or whatever you want to call it.. wants you to succeed!

Remember that.

Become Obsessed

Write them down daily

You should be really clear on your goals at this point, right? Well now it’s time to put it to the test.

Are you obsessed with them? I’m not talking about jut wanting them… Or wishing really hard… Are you OBSESSED?

  • Is everything you’re doing helping your work towards your goals?
  • Are your thoughts consumed with the thought of achieving it?
  • Have you cut out all the unnecessary stuff?
  • Have you posted reminders all around your house?
  • Are you writing them down EVERY day?

Writing all of your goals down every day may seem a little insane but… I KNOW that it will help you get SO much closer to your goals!

It keeps them present and weighing on your brain.. Your brain will do anything to help you get there!

So get yourself a notebook or journal and write down 15-20 of your goals EVERY day.

Don’t Forget to Celebrate

A KEY part to setting goals is the “after party”. How are you going to celebrate when you’ve reached your goals?

You’d think just achieving the goal would be enough, right? Wrong. Depending on the goal, having some reward AFTER achievement will help you look forward to it and work even harder!

Believe in yourself

The biggest thing I learned from 2017 is that I need to have more belief in myself. If I want to achieve anything, I need to believe in myself.

I can’t let past mistakes define me & I need to have faith that I can do hard things!

If you feel like you’re not quite there yet, get yourself an ‘accountability’ partner who believes you are! It always helps to have an incredible tribe along the way.
