Because He Lives

Today I just wanted to share with you my gratitude… Because he lives.

If you haven’t already guessed what this blog post is going to be about… It’s going to be a little different than my usual weekly post.

Easter is one of my favorite holidays for lots of reasons, the biggest one being the symbolism behind it. I feel that we often overlook that portion of the holiday and get caught up in the Easter bunny and all the things that come with that.  So I’m not doing a DIY or fun recipe post… I’m sharing a little of my love for the savior.

Because he lives, I get to spend eternity with my husband:

My best friend in the whole world.

Because he lives… I am blessed with the gospel light:

Scriptures that touch my life. A personal connection with my Heavenly Father and the knowledge that there IS life after death.

"The temple isn't just extra credit, it's the whole reason the gospel exists." — I've been thinking a lot about the temple lately. It's one of my favorite places & it provides so much value to my life. I LOVE GOING. But lately.. I've been worried that maybe I spend too much time focused on going and being there and not enough time on other worldly aspects of my life (y'all Satan is for real.) Like somehow me going as often as I possibly can is taking away someone else's chance or creating lack in other aspects of my life.. HA. In Stake conference today, all of my questions were put to rest as I heard the quote mentioned above. Making the temple a priority in our lives will bless us EXPONENTIALLY in every other aspect. —- I am grateful for a little piece of Heaven on Earth. A place I can go to feel my Heavenly Father's presence and be nearer to him ❤️ If you want to learn more about temples.. I invite you to check out LDS.ORG. it's a great resource if you're curious 😉 — #SundaySpiritualSnippet #sunchaser #quotes #comment #TFLers #quoteoftheday #instagood #love #photooftheday #igers #sunny #instadaily #instamood #nofilter #happyhailee #thezestyblonde #bloggers #bloggerstyle #instadaily #bloggerlife #igers #bloggerfashion #mormon #bloggerlifestyle #instagood #bloggersofinstagram #vsco #bloggerdiaries #social #socialmediatips #ldsblogger #ldstemple #travelblogger

Because he lives… I can become clean:

I can repent. I can be uplifted. I can let go & forgive. I always have a second chance.

One of my favorite blessings.

Because he lives… I have hope:

Hope for a better tomorrow, a brighter future and a more awesome me.

Because he lives… I can live again:

I am so blessed to know that because of HIM, I can live again. Because of HIM, heaven is a possibility for someone imperfect like me.

Because of HIM, I can keep trying.

I hope that we ALL remember, throughout this year, that the sacrifice was made not just to save us from our imperfections.. but to inspire & enable us to rise above them.

I am so grateful.

DIY Outdoor themed wedding favors

This past weekend was a BLUR. My cute sister-in-law got married this weekend and we had the chance to help put everything together for her BEAUTIFUL outdoor themed wedding.

Here’s a peak at the DIY wedding favors we made!

DIY Bird feed Wedding Favors:

(Link to Original Post: http://www.intimateweddings.com/blog/birdseed-wedding-favor-hearts-easy-and-inexpensive-diy/ )

You will need:

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin (2.5 teaspoons)
  • 3 tbsp corn syrup
  • 4 cups birdseed

You will also need:

  • large mixing bowl
  • heart shaped cookie cutter
  • nonstick spray
  • chopstick or bamboo skewer for making a hole in the ornament
  • parchment paper
  • cookie sheet
  • jute or raffia
  • card stock
  • rubber stamp
  • ink
  • hole punch

Mix flour, water, gelatin and corn syrup. Add birdseed and stir well.

Make sure to spray some non-stick on your hands.. this stuff is disgustingly sticky.

Spray your heart (or really whatever shape you’d like!) mold, and get to work!

I would make little balls of bird seed, place them in mold and then press it to fill the mold.

(See below)

If you want to hang these (obviously, its for birds so hanging from trees is ideal) make sure to poke a hole to stick the ribbon or jute cord through!

Once you’ve laid them all out, let them dry for 6-8 hours before doing anything with them!

Parade of Homes -St. George 2018

If you’re hardcore into ‘window shopping’ (especially for houses), the Parade of Homes is for you!

This last week we decided to take a trip down to St. George to see what all the fanfare surrounding the Parade of Homes was about. We were not disappointed.

These homes ranged from $450k- 4 Million in price. The styles and themes were vastly different but all of them were so beautiful!

Here are some of my favorites:

Building style & Architecture :

As much as I love craftsman or bungalow style homes… these desert dwelling had my heart pumpin.

Landscaping:

Landscaping is something I always keep an eye out for. I love the outdoors and my dream house will have a GIANT back yard as well as land for daysss.

However, the parade of homes is definitely more focused on the HOME, there isn’t a lot to the yards besides pools.

Here are some of the cool features that WERE there:

This volcano rock blows my mind.

Fire rocks were all over! So cool!

Kitchens:

You can’t have a Parade house without a dreamy kitchen, it’s the law. I can not WAIT to move into our new place with a giant kitchen!

Here are a few of my favorites:

Bathrooms:

What I wouldn’t give for an insane bathroom like on of these. Bath’s are a stressed out college girls best friend and these tubs couldn’t be more inviting.

Here are a few of my favorite designs:

The view on this one makes up for the lack of privacy

Interior Design:

Definitely one of my favorite factors of any home. I love the way small things can pull together an entire room.

Here are a few of my favorite accent walls & pieces:

Views:

Most of these gorgeous homes were located up near Snow Canyon park in Southern Utah. An incredibly gorgeous place that you definitely need to see for yourself.
